Research-based teacher discourse moves (TDMs) are well defined, yet not always implemented well in classrooms. We will review the TDMs and practice them by employing them in response to real-world classroom happenings. We will view video clips from mathematics classrooms and practice in-the-moment decision-making about how to best respond to promote quality discourse and meaningful engagement.
