Setting the right foundation for mathematical discourse requires building upon three important types of routines in any math classroom: Collaborative, Continuous, and Instructional. Participants will leave with a list of ideas to support Open Up Math, social/emotional and culture building activities to implement throughout the year, and instructional routines (both math and non-math) that promote community and build math identity.
