Place value is second nature to us as adults, but what do students feel and experience when making sense of this system? In this session, we will work with unfamiliar numbers to put ourselves in learners' shoes and reflect on the challenges and key components of counting, naming, and grouping new units. We'll examine OUR K-5 Math tasks and the Standards to understand how place value builds and develops across grades.
